HUGS Giving Tree

Once again, the Huntington University Gerontology Society (HUGS) will collect gifts for local older adults throughout the holiday season.

All gifts collected as part of Huntington University’s 5th annual Christmas Giving Tree campaign are presented to long-term care residents at the Elizabeth Centre, Finlandia Village and Pioneer Manor, on Christmas Day.  Since 2015, this student-led initiative has ensured that more than 200 gifts have been distributed to local seniors in care homes.

For those on campus, participation is easy:

  • Choose a tag from the Christmas tree located near room 117 at Huntington University (near the J.W. Tate Library).
  • Purchase and wrap the suggested items on the back of the tag.
  • Secure the tag to the gift.
  • Drop off the wrapped gift, with the tree tag attached, by 3:30 p.m. on Friday, December 13th, to the Huntington University reception desk (room 101).  The reception office is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
